Master 11/2 Birth Day | Your Gift Is HEALING With CREATIVITY
October 15, 2023Numerology: How To Calculate The Destiny or Expression Number
October 17, 2023THE DESTINY OR EXPRESSION NUMBER
Now we’re getting into a number that’s derived from your name rather than from your birth date.
Most numerologists would concur that numbers derived from your date of birth indicate what you’re here to learn. The numbers that come from your name are more indicative of what you’re here to teach.
Of course, before you can teach something, you must learn it.
Another name for the Life Path is the Birth Path. The Soul Urge is also known as the Heart’s Desire. The Maturity number can be called the number of Attainment, and so on. Your Expression number can be known as the Destiny Number.
For some reason, this is a number that I personally refer to using both names because it’s been my experience that it’s rather a 50/50 gambit as to how people recognize it.
The Destiny/Expression number is a vital component or compliment to your Life Path number.
The Life Path number indicates your primary purpose in life—it’s what you’re learning about, mastering, and evolving into.
Yet when you add it with the Expression/Destiny number, the Expression/Destiny number indicates the manner in which you’ll go about achieving your purpose, as indicated by your Life Path number.
For those of you who are astrologically inclined, this a similar to the ascendent or the rising sign, while the Life Path number is synonymous with the sun sign.
Knowing your Expression/Destiny number tells you:
- The flavor and manner of living that you must cultivate and act upon in your life
- Your opportunities for success and your stumbling blocks to achieving your full potential
- At the “end of the day,” this is how you’re destined to achieve and express your life purpose
- Offers you an idea of how you can make the most out of your life experience
- The kind of work or career that would be a natural complement and expression of your life purpose as defined by your Life Path
When you place your Destiny/Expression number underneath your Life Path number, you get the way in which you go about achieving your Life Path purpose. Sometimes a person will present more in alignment with their Destiny/Expression number (how they go about doing their life’s purpose) than with the Life Path number itself.
For instance, perhaps you’re a 2 Life Path with a 6 Destiny or Expression. Chances are you gravitate toward family life. How about a 3 Life Path with a 4 Destiny or Expression? These energies are quite oppositional—the 3 is all about creative self-expression, while the 4 is the systems builder and workhorse. Together they might present as an actor who really works hard at what they do. Or this person could be an architect who has a creative flair for design and an advanced way to communicate their ideas to clients. The combinations are limitless.
Either way, knowing both your Life Path and your Destiny/Expression numbers can allow you to put some of the puzzle pieces together in a way you might not have been able to before.
If you know the basic qualities of your Life Path number, it’s time to start building your numerology profile. Then you can take the others numbers in your chart that we’re starting to learn about now—the Destiny/Expression, Soul Urge, Birth Day, and Personality—and see how they connect, enhance, or detract from your Life Path purpose.
